Pool Playoff

PRIVACY

Your play. Your privacy.

Effective October 10, 2026. Pool Playoff is operated by Nick Anderson. For privacy requests, account help, or abuse reports, email nick@candience.com.

What stays on your device

Solo career, exhibition, challenges, practice preferences and local replays are stored on your device. The optional table scanner uses your camera only after you choose Scan. Images are processed locally and are not uploaded by Pool Playoff. Removing the app or clearing storage can erase this local progress.

What online play uses

Creating a player stores a user identifier, your chosen handle and preset avatar, account credentials, and online game statistics. A temporary account address is generated for new players; you may add your own email and password for account recovery. Online rooms store participants, strokes, match results, rank, earned virtual coins, room codes, and messages. Clubs store names, membership and results. Guest rooms store a chosen display name and a hashed seat credential.

Player handles, preset avatars and competitive statistics can appear on rankings. Club members see their club roster and competitive records. Friendly records are shown to the players involved. Room chat is shared with the other room participant. Anyone you give an invitation code or link may attempt to join its open seat or club.

Match search and optional turn alerts

Finding a live opponent uses your player identifier, chosen match type, skill level and recent search activity. Availability expires when you leave the search. The server keeps the current match and shot deadlines so both players see the same result.

Where phone notifications are available, they are optional. If you enable them, we store an installation identifier and an Apple push token linked to your account to deliver turn reminders through Apple Push Notification service. Notifications contain a generic turn reminder and match identifier, not your player name or chat messages. You can turn alerts off in the game or in your phone's notification settings. Signing out disables that installation's alerts when it can reach the server. Deleting your account removes its notification device records. In-game sounds do not require notification permission.

Optional AI coaching

Each time you request an AI explanation from Coach, the app asks for permission before sending structured gameplay information to its server: the game phase, player turn, remaining balls, chosen target, shot power and spin, planned route, predicted outcome, and a comparison with your prior shot. The server turns this information into a text summary and sends it through Lovable AI Gateway to an OpenAI model to generate advice.

This gameplay summary does not include camera images, account identifiers, player names, email addresses, passwords or chat messages. If you request advice after scanning a real table, the summary can describe gameplay information derived from the locally detected layout; the camera image stays on your device. Lovable and OpenAI process the request and generated advice to provide this optional feature. Choose Not now to decline a request. You can play and use on-device shot guidance without requesting AI advice.

Safety and support

Reports store the reporter identifier, reported player or club, reason, optional details, and relevant recent room messages or names so the operator can investigate. Blocks are stored to prevent unwanted contact. These records are private to the operator and service providers supporting the app. Support emails and attachments are used to respond to your request. Please do not send passwords, sign-in codes, financial information, or unnecessary personal details.

Providers and purposes

Lovable and Supabase provide hosting, account authentication, databases and online communication. They process data needed to deliver these features, maintain security and troubleshoot failures, including network information such as IP addresses in service logs. Supabase also retains IP addresses and browser/device user-agent information in authentication session records linked to your account to provide account functionality and security. Data may be processed outside your country. Pool Playoff does not sell personal data, show targeted advertising, or track you across other companies' apps or websites. We use collected information for app functionality, support and safety. Coin purchases are disabled in version 1.0; no payment information is collected by Pool Playoff.

Your choices and deletion

Solo play does not require an existing online account. You may deny camera access and still play. Use the player page to delete your account. If you own a club with other members, leave it first so ownership can transfer. Deletion removes your account and associated profile data; messages or records needed by other players and safety investigations may remain where necessary. Email us to request access, correction or deletion, or if you cannot sign in. We may verify account ownership before acting.

We retain online account and gameplay data while needed to operate the service. Reports and security records are retained while necessary to investigate abuse, handle appeals or meet legal obligations. Backups may retain deleted data until their normal replacement cycle. We review retention when processing deletion requests.

Children and changes

Pool Playoff is not directed to children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information so we can investigate and remove it. We may update this policy as features change; the effective date above identifies the current version.
